Bread Pudding with Amber Sauce
Ingredients
- 6 Cups Dry bread cubes
- 1 Cup plus 2 TBLS Sugar
- 6 Cups Milk Scalded
- 6 slightly beaten eggs
- 1 1/2 TBLS Butter
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 3/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
Sauce:
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Soft Butter
- 1/2 Cup White Corn Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Cream or Milnot
Instructions
- Soak bread in milk 5 minutes.
- Add butter, salt and sugar.
- Pour slowly over eggs.
- Add Vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Pour into greased baking dish.
- Bake in pan of hot water in 350 oven until firm.
- About 50 minutes.
- Serve with Amber sauce.
- Sauce: Mix ingredients in saucepan.
- Cook over low heat stirring to blend well, about 5 minutes.
- Donβt Boil!!!
