Bread Pudding with Amber Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 Cups Dry bread cubes
  • 1 Cup plus 2 TBLS Sugar
  • 6 Cups Milk Scalded
  • 6 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 TBLS Butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins

Sauce:

  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Soft Butter
  • 1/2 Cup White Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Cream or Milnot

Instructions

  1. Soak bread in milk 5 minutes.
  2. Add butter, salt and sugar.
  3. Pour slowly over eggs.
  4. Add Vanilla.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Pour into greased baking dish.
  7. Bake in pan of hot water in 350 oven until firm.
  8. About 50 minutes.
  9. Serve with Amber sauce.
  10. Sauce: Mix ingredients in saucepan.
  11. Cook over low heat stirring to blend well, about 5 minutes.
  12. Don’t Boil!!!
