Deconstructed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Blanch chopped cabbage in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until tender; drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion becomes translucent.
- Stir in cooked rice, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer 5 minutes.
- Layer half the cabbage in baking dish, then half the meat mixture; repeat with remaining cabbage and meat.
- Sprinkle cheese on top if desired.
- Bake covered with foil at 350°F for 20 minutes; remove foil and bake 10 additional minutes.
- Cool slightly before serving.
