Mom's Homemade Ice Cream

Ingredients
- About 3 qt milk
- 4 Eggs
- 2 1/2 Cups Sugar
- 1 can Milnot
- small carton of Sour Cream
- 1 TBSP Flour
- (If Vanilla, Use 2 TBLS
- If Banana use 3 Bananas
- If Strawberry, a pint
- If Pineapple, a can.)
Instructions
- Beat eggs well.
- Mix 2 Cups sugar and flour.
- Add to scalded milk while stirring.
- Slowly pour 1/2 Cup milk mixture into eggs.
- Then pour eggs into pan of milk stirring constantly.
- Bring to a boil. Let cool completely.
- (Can be done a day ahead of time)
- Mix together 1/2 Cup sugar, Sour cream, and fruit.
- Pour in milnot.
- Pour into freezer.
- Fill to 3” from top with milk about 2 qts.
- Stir well.
- Alternate layers of ice 5”
- Salt 1 1/2” finish with ice keep filling with ice.
- Allow water to flow from spout
- When motor stalls disconnect immediately. Usually about 25 mins.
- Tip to empty water, remove to, scrape dasher.
- Put wax paper and replace top and cork
- Add more salt and ice.
- Cover with old blanket
- Put in cool place at least 3 hours.
